A wide and ever expanding range of vegetable plants are available in spring and early summer followed by autumn sales of winter vegetables.

Scottish seed potatoes, sold loose, are on sale early spring onwards together with a wide selection of Kings Vegetable seeds

Broad Bean "Bunyard's Exhibition Longpod"

Reliable performer. Tall with 5-6 beans per pod. For early planting from March onwards as they are frost hardy

Packs of 6. Available early spring only

Dwarf French Bean "Masterpiece"

Early maturing with 8-9 inch long, flat podded, beans

Packs of 9. Available mid May onwards as early planting runs the risk of frost damaging the young plants outdoors

Climbing French Bean "Cobra"

Great quality beans, very straight, good flavour and stringless, 8 inches long. Has a long cropping period

Runner Bean "Streamline"

Stringless, good quality runner beans 12-15 inches in length. Packs of 12. Available mid May onwards as early planting runs the risk of frost damaging the young plants outdoors

Leeks "Musselburgh" Standard mid winter variety cropping from Nov to Feb. Available in punnets of 15-20

Onion "Rinjsburger 5"

Brown, very firm, medium sized with excellent culinary and keeping qualities. We store and use  these to March most years

Onion "The Kelsae"

An enormous onion, regularly achieving world record weight but still great in the kitchen. Mild enough but with a bit of bite. Keeps till about Christmas.

Onion "Red Baron"

Good quality red onion, globe shaped with a thick neck. Keeps till Christmas

Courgette "Bambino"

Very heavy crops. Can be picked as babies with the flowers attached or left to grow on.

Marrow "Long Green Trailing"

A trailing types that can be left to ramble around and amongst other plants. Large dark fruits

Cucumber "Femspot"

F1 hybrid ensuring uniformity and vigour. All female flowered son no bitter fruit caused by fertilization. A quick strong grower with long, slightly ribbed fruit.

For the greenhouse

Cucumber "Passandra"

Never have half a cucumber left rolling about in the fridge again! F1 hybrid, all female flowered mini cucumber, 6-8 inches in length, easily producing in excess of 40 fruits in a season and even managing 60 in the Trials Garden glasshouse.

Melon "Sweetheart"

More of a challenge but perfectly possible if you can grow cucumbers. The trick is to make sure to pollinate the flowers and restrict each plant to 4 or 5 fruit only

Sweetheart produces fruit weighing about a pound with a good, aromatic flavour

Sweetcorn "Earlibird"

A super sweet variety that also stays sweet for longer after picking, but the old adage "walk slowly to pick it but run back home to boil it" still holds true as the sugars quickly turn to starch after picking. 8 inch long cobs, quick to mature in less than ideal weather
